Skin Needling FAQs

All skin needling appointments have a thorough consultation before the treatment begins to ensure we can create a targeted and customised treatment plan specific for you.

  • Skin needling is a treatment which aims to tighten, lift and rejuvenate your skin. Working on your skins natural wound healing response and cell to cell communication for optimal cell life cycle function, in addition to increased collagen and elastin production.

    Improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, scarring, stretch marks, enlarged pores, loose skin, hyperpigmentation and sun damage.

  • Skin needling itself takes around 15 minutes for the full face. If you decide to add treatment to other areas such as the neck and décolletage, you will be looking at 30 minutes of needling. We use the rest of the time to tailor the treatment to your skin and do an LED treatment.

  • Although it has a scary name, we use specifically compounded numbing cream to ensure your comfort during the treatment; without numbing cream, it is too painful to penetrate deep enough into the skin to get medical-grade results. By using numbing cream we ensure comfort along with the best results!

  • Your skin will be assessed during the consultation and your therapist will recommend a treatment plan for you. Usually, you will need at least three treatment sessions for collagen induction results. With treatments being scheduled 4-6 weeks apart. If you are targeting scarring, you may need 3-6 treatment sessions to see desired results.

  • Skin needling is safe for almost anyone. However, if you currently have acne, infections, diabetes or weakened immune system or wound-healing issues it is best to hold off on this treatment until fully healed.

    Skin needling can cause bleeding so it may not be suitable for people with clotting or bleeding disorders, or who take medicine to thin their blood.

  • You will experience some redness and mild swelling for 24-48 hours post-treatment. It's also normal to see small pinpoint bleeding and mild bruising. After a few days your skin will be a little dry and flakey, which will gradually disappear within one week
