-
Cosmetic tattoo is a semi-permanent treatment that implants pigment into the upper layers of the skin to enhance your natural features.
At Vissi Aesthetics we offer Ombre Brows, Lip Blush and Lash Enhancement Eyeliner. Every treatment is individually designed to complement your facial features while maintaining a soft, natural appearance.
Unlike traditional body tattoos, cosmetic tattoo pigments gradually fade over time and typically require maintenance appointments to keep them looking fresh.
-
Most cosmetic tattoo appointments take approximately 2.5 hours.
This allows time for your consultation, treatment planning, pre-draw (where applicable), pigment selection, numbing, the tattoo procedure and personalised aftercare instructions.
We never rush cosmetic tattoo, as careful planning is essential to achieving balanced, natural-looking results.
-
Healing occurs gradually over several weeks.
Immediately after treatment, the colour will appear darker and more defined than the final healed result. As your skin heals, the pigment will soften and lighten as it settles into the skin.
Some flaking or light scabbing is a normal part of the healing process. It’s important not to pick or remove any flaking skin, as this may affect pigment retention.
-
Most clients return to work immediately or the following day.
The treated area may appear darker, bolder or slightly swollen immediately after treatment, so some people prefer to schedule their appointment before a few days off or over a weekend.
Healing varies between individuals and depends on the treatment performed.
-
The surface of the skin generally heals within 7 to 14 days, while the pigment continues to settle over approximately 4 to 8 weeks.
Because cosmetic tattoo heals in stages, your colour may appear darker, lighter or patchy at different points during the healing process before reaching its final healed result.
-
As the name describes the perfecting appointment is there to ensure your new cosmetic tattoo is PERFECT! We do not always need to do a lot of tattooing in this appointment however, it is there to reinforce and build on the pigment where it might have faded slightly during the healing process. You don’t have to come to your perfecting appointment however, we strongly recommend coming to this appointment to ensure you are giving your cosmetic tattoo the best possible longevity and perfection.
-
Cosmetic tattoo lasts anywhere from 1-3 years depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Cosmetic tattoo pigments have been designed to be semi permanent meaning they do fade over time; this allows the technician to make changes to colour and shape over the years as the client's natural colouration and facial changes occur.
-
Most people choose to have a maintenance appointment every 12- 18 months.
Exactly when you’ll be ready depends on how your skin retains pigment, your lifestyle and your personal preference. Some people prefer a softer, more faded appearance, while others choose to refresh their tattoo sooner.
-
Cosmetic tattoo may be suitable for many people looking to enhance their natural features or simplify their daily routine.
However, treatment may need to be postponed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, certain medical conditions, are taking particular medications or have recently undergone some cosmetic procedures.
Your suitability will always be assessed during your consultation.
-
Preparation varies slightly depending on the treatment being performed.
Generally, we recommend avoiding alcohol and excessive caffeine for 24 hours before your appointment, avoiding active skincare products around the treatment area for several days beforehand, and arriving well hydrated.
You’ll receive personalised pre-treatment instructions before your appointment to help achieve the best possible healing and pigment retention.
Brow FAQs
-
There are several cosmetic tattoo techniques available, including Ombre, Combination and Microblading.
At Vissi Aesthetics we specialise in Ombre Brows, which create a soft, powdered appearance that heals naturally and suits a wide range of skin types. This technique generally provides longer-lasting results than microblading techniques, particularly for combination or oily skin.
-
Your brow shape is individually designed during your appointment.
We carefully assess your facial features, natural brow hair, facial symmetry and personal preferences before completing a pre-draw for your approval.
Our goal is to create brows that complement your face while maintaining a balanced and natural appearance.
-
Immediately after treatment your brows will appear darker, crisper and more defined than the final healed result. Over the following few weeks the colour softens as your skin heals and the pigment settles.
Lip FAQs
-
We have a wide range of beautiful sweet and sultry colours to select from to create a complete custom lip colour for you. Your artist will work with you to select a colour that will suit you and your visions.
Your pigment colour is selected during your consultation based on your natural lip colour, skin tone and desired outcome.
Most clients choose a shade that enhances their natural lips rather than dramatically changing their colour. I will guide you through the available options to help achieve a result that suits your features.
-
mmediately after treatment your lips will usually appear brighter, more vibrant and swollen.
Over the following days the swelling settles and the colour gradually softens as the lips heal. It is normal for the colour to fade significantly before reaching its final healed result several weeks later.
-
Lip blush does not physically increase the size of your lips.
Instead, it enhances your natural lip colour and definition, which may create the appearance of fuller, healthier-looking lips. If you’re seeking additional volume, this can be discussed separately during your consultation.
Eyeliner FAQs
-
A lash enhancement places pigment within the lash line to create the appearance of fuller, darker lashes without creating a visible eyeliner look.
Traditional eyeliner tattoos are typically thicker and more noticeable above the lash line. Lash enhancement is ideal for clients wanting subtle definition while maintaining a natural appearance.
-
For your eyeliner tattoo you can select a black eyeliner or a brownish black eyeliner.
-
Your new lash enhancement will be very intense colour and have a wet look. It will also be a lot thicker than desired, this is due to the swelling and the tattoo shrinking when going through the healing process. During the healing process the tattoo will soften and settle into the skin and slightly shrink. Your eyes may be swollen for the first few hours following treatment, ice packs and ointment can be applied to help relieve any discomfort.
-
No, we do not tattoo on the waterline as a precaution, this is due to the possibility of it leading to lifelong complications such as dry eyes and possible pigment migration.
